Buckle Up. Please Return Your Seats And Tray Tables To Their Upright And Locked Position...

For our first blog, we will explore how easy it was to build this site. No kidding. Easy.

Think I'm kidding.

No. Go ahead. Tell me I'm kidding.

Seriously. No, I'm not kidding.

What ever. doesn't matter. I'll blog anyway. [read on]

Blogging from Your Wix Blog Dashboard...

So when WIX says its easy, its easy. Mind you, I have a little experience in setting up websites from back in the day when we used HTML and Javascript and PHP and PERL and.. well you get the idea. I have setup and maintained servers and sites before and its a serious PITA (pain in the a**). So why WIX?

When I moved up here from Tupelo, MS...

Ok, not from there, but in as far as website construction goes, I might as well have. I used to use WordPress; and a lot of people do use WP, but for me it just didn't have all of what I needed and I couldn't design the page that I wanted effectively and efficiently. I'm one who looks at cost and says "am I getting my moneys worth?" Well, I guess anyone in business does that too and its no exception in voice over. Voice over and voice talent needs to make sure every penny is spent wisely, especially if we ain't got's many pennys (or is that Moneypenny?) Either way, money spent more efficiently is money spent wisely.

So we asked 100 people, and they said...

The number one answer on the board is... WIX. Yes, I asked some friends on Facebook if they recommended WIX and an overwhelming majority said YES! I wasn't sure if that was a good answer (duh), so I took the plunge and got the subscription.

Its so easy, even a cave man...

And I'm pretty much a cave man when it comes to website setup and maintenance. There is SO much you can do and creating the page as YOU want it to look is simple. Yes, I chose a template and yes, I could have done it on my own, but my past skills in graphic arts are long forgotten. The Editor was actually easy to learn though you do need to put on your thinking cap. Its not as much "how do I do this..." but rather "I don't what what to do, but I know what I CAN do..." Once you learn a few concepts, you can manage the site quite easily.

We just want you to know, we're all counting on you

Well actually I count using my fingers, but as the site goes, you can produce a quality website with very little design knowledge or experience. DO take more time than I did and learn by watching the How-To videos and do experiment. I made mistakes but they were easy to resolve (...I know what I CAN do.) That said, trust the videos, trust the editor, trust your instincts.

And in conclusion, I would like to leave you with these 45 bullet points...

No 1., section A, part 21... Using WIX for me wasn't hard. I mentioned I had designed and maintained static websites years ago and did have a background in graphic design. That said, it really is quite easy once you get the basic concepts. I did buy the subscription so the ads don't show up and am now blogging (or so it seems based on this blog). Try WIX for free and see what you think.

Cheers Y'all!
